Traditional Chinese Pharmacy
Yesterday I went back to Chinatown as I needed some herbs and goji berries. The traditional pharmacy I go to is on the main road, the Yaowarat road, number 384 and the name of the pharmacy is Siang Heng Hua Kee.
There is one old doctor, who is probably the owner and not very communicative, a young doctor, who is very nice and helpfull and about 5 people sales staff.
Everytime I go there, I know that I have to know the name of my herb in Latin and in Mandarin (so written in Chinese characters) and , if possible in Thai too:
this way I have the most chance to get what I need.
Till now, 90 % of what I needed, I have found in this pharmacy, and the young doctor always tells me how I have to prepare the herb to have the most effect.
Of course, other languages than Thai or Chinese you will not find in Chinatown.
I like the atmosphere in this part of town, on some fresh markets are really amazing, you cannot imagine all the food you can find here, things you cannot find elsewhere.
