When you catch a cold
For most of us, winter is coming again, and with it, the risc of catching a cold. With the right food, we can easily prevent this, but we do not always eat the right food.
Eating a lot of ginger and sometimes some garlic, will already increase your immunity a lot.
Once you have a cold, ginger and garlic is still very healthy, but probably not enough to get rid of the problems. If it is in the sinusses, sniffing salty water can have a great effect, if the cold is already in the lungs, shitake mushroom and lotus root in a soup with a lot of ginger will help eliminating the muces.
If it is in the throat , there is an easy remedy: make a kitchen towel wet, put it in the deepvreezer till it is frozen, and wind it around your throat when you go to sleep. In the morning , the towel will be hot, and your infection will be gone.
Avoid in the winter to eat tropical fruit, when you live in a moderate climate, better choose for less sugary things, stews are the right food to eat now.
