The food you eat affects the performance of your brain. It has been proven that by eating the right food, you can boost your IQ, improve your mood, be more emotionally stable, sharpen your memory and keep your mind young, and these are indeed all seperate functions in the brain.
Vitamins and minerals are needed to convert ordinary amino acids into powerful neurotransmitters.
Health Food for Beginners
Yesterday I was asked to write a kind of "Health Food for Beginners" articles, so here we go with the first one.
The term health food can be interpreted in a lot of different ways, so let us first see what a human being should eat. Our digestive system can tell us a lot, beginning with the teeth. We have 20 molars , 4 canines and 8 incisors: molars are for cereals, canines are for meat and incisors are for vegetables and fruit.

The most important influence on our health is our food. You are, indeed, what you eat. When we talk about the balance between Yin and Yang, we need to strive to find this balance in our food. Every balance has its ideal point. For food this balance is achieved by cereals.
Cereals are: maize (corn), rice, wheat, barley, sorghum, millet, oat, rye, fonio (sorghum and fonio are only given here to be complete as you will hardly find them outside Africa). Also buckwheat and quinoa are from the cereal family but are called pseudocereals.
